Izod Man
I noticed you that day
As I walked through the Quad
Bent and concentrating
You looked rather odd
Gray vest and gray slacks
Gray hair and gray sack
Your purpose gray too
So I turned to look back
What’s in your sack?
I wondered alone
So I stopped for a moment
To ponder your zone
The students rushed by
This way and that
Without noticing
You there as you sat
Then you stood up
And looked in the trash
You pulled out a can
And eyed it like cash
Your purpose now known
I went on my way
And left you alone
On that warm summer day
It’s been over two years
Since I saw you last
But Izod man
I still ponder your past.
