Vermont Quarter

Vermont Quarter

Growwwwlllll goes my stomach, as I rummage for change.
4 dimes, 5 nickels … and a Vermont quarter.

Oooo … that’s a new one! I take a moment to admire the shiny picture of a person standing between trees and I want to save the quarter in my collection.

Growwwwllll goes my stomach again.
65 cents will not do. I must sacrifice the quarter.

I will find you again, Vermont and then you will be mine.

Twice

I don't care what I do
as long as it's with you
I don't care what I see
as long as you're with me

Because baby you make me feel so sure
you make me feel secure
knowing you're there
is like breathing the air

I've found a friend in you
someone that thinks like I do
who has a beautiful view of life

Together we are are twice as strong
without changing at all
without feeling too small
Twice just as we are.

Your Child

Your child most precious
our present and future
your child most precious
you live in him now

His world it is you
his joy it is you
his strength and his sorrow
it to is from you

Forgive you he will
forgive you he wants
fear him fear not
happy endings can start

It's Heaven on earth
near the spot where you fell
past the demons en route
from your path out of Hell

The key is in you
though it's shape may not fit
the shape of your heart
where your spirit does sit

Prayer can release
the lock on your heart
so your spirit can soar
past the pain and the doubt

Into Heaven on earth
where truth leads the day
and happiness follows
your child at play.
